Passenger from North Carolina falls on Carnival cruise ship by port of Miami and dies.
It has reported that a twenty year old male passenger on a Carnival cruise ship, the Carnival Ecstasy fell approximately 20 feet, or the equivalent of two decks of the ship, and died.
It is reported the passenger climbed up the bridge area, which is a restricted area. I previously handled a case involving an intoxicated passenger on a Carnival ship that climbed up the front of the ship up to the top where the radar is, and the radar antenna swung and truck the young man and he fell to his death.
It is unknown at this time whether alcohol played a role in this current death. However, in my prior case the cruise line did not do enough to restrict the area and provide proper warnings.
My firm continues to act as safety advocates for those harmed at sea.
